Team details

The current setup began midway through season 2005/06 as 1st year U14s. There was a nucleus of players that had been with the club since U10 days and no fewer than 7 of these players were in the squad of 14 that completed the 2008/09 season.

The following season, our 1st full season together, we were runners-up across the board.

In 2007/08 as 1st year U16s, we went one better and were crowned County League Champions.

In 2008/09 the good progress continued as we won an historic treble, going the whole season unbeaten and conceding only 7 goals in all competitons. We are also proud to have represented Cumberland FA in the Northern Regional Finals of the Tesco Cup at Wythenshawe.

We are now faced with a new challenge and have taken the step up into Women’s football, competing in the Cumbria Women’s County League in 2009/10.

Our squad is growing all the time but new players are always welcome. With a number of U16’s due to move up at the end of this season, we are hoping to enter two ladies teams next season.

As a club, every year we hold our own Festival of Football at our ground in Rickerby Park, held over a full weekend, there is a seperate Tournament Day each for Girls Teams & Boys Teams. Over 1000 Children of all ages, participate in these tournaments making it one of the most successful tournaments in Cumbria, if not the North of England.

In 2007 Crown Newlaithes were awarded the North East Charter Standard Community Football Club of the year.

To date we are now running seventeen teams, which consist of 10 Boys Teams ranging from Under 7’s to Senior Level, & the Girls Section, which consists of 7 teams ranging from Under 10’s to Ladies.

And not forgetting the Coaching Staff, which stands at well over 30 F.A. Qualified Coaches and is still developing as we speak!
